Huge shout out and congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on his Masters win!

Scheffler’s fourth win of the season on golf’s greatest stage was incredibly impressive… except that 4 wap on 18 of course, lol.

With that said, his win just shows you… it ain’t how, it’s how many.

Scheffler has his own golf swing, and works the ball with follow throughs similar to Bubba Watson.  I freakin love it!

He is not the most amazing ball striker of all time, but hit some amazing shots when he needed them.

That third shot into 18 on Saturday may have actually been the shot of the tournament.

When he drove his ball into the trees, I didn’t think he could make less than double bogey from where they found it.

Faldo and company all thought he was going to lay up (how many times were they fooled by Scheffler alone this weekend?  I count at least three times).

Instead, he pulled out a long iron and rifled it just over the green, then got up and down for his 5.  That was huge.

What impressed me most, however, was his short game all week.  He displayed superior touch that helped him escape quite a few wayward shots.

Augusta National and The Open Championship are likely his best opportunities to win majors.  Those events reward strong short games and solid iron play.

Otherwise, he will need to tighten things up a bit to win a US Open under traditional conditions.

With that said, this kid is on a roll and it is fun to watch.

Imagine… at the beginning of the year he had zero tour wins.  Now, he has four and is Numero Uno in the world golf rankings.  Impressive to say the least.

Was happy to see Tiger Woods make the cut, but unless that foot can get much better, I just don’t see him competing at a much higher level in the foreseeable future.

He’s given us enough though, so I certainly won’t fault him for that!

Was disappointed in the effort of Brooks Koepka.  After his finish in the Match Play, it looked like he was moving forward with his game.  Nope.  He’s got work to do.

Speaking of work to do… Jordan Spieth.  Lost.

After his win a year ago, I thought he was on his way, especially after his second place at The Open Championship.

That practice swing routine he has going on now though is just an indication he is still searching.

It appears to me that some of these former young guns, who are still pretty young (Spieth, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler) are just not going to have the dominant careers we thought they would have after their hot starts.

I hope they can get back to their top levels because all three are fun to watch.

Ok, golf season has officially begun, now get to work!
